Shawn Bass is reporting some serious issues with the latest CSG build. Serious enough in fact that Citrix has pulled it from their site while they investigate. read about it here

Busy week for Microsoft. They have hit milestones on 2 products that directly affect the Virtualization/sbc world.
First Windows server 2008 R2 hit RTM.
Windows 2008 R2
Second windows 7 has hit RTM as well
Windows 7
Interesting note for Windows 2008 R2. It is 64-bit only. That has a pretty serious effect on Citix/terminal services users. 64 bit only has some serious print driver compatibility issues.

Both Microsoft and Citrix released their Q2 results recently.

I am no financial expert but it appeared that Vmwares licensing revenue dipped quite a bit more than Citrix’s did but their services revenue went up enough to cover the loss in licensing. This is pretty interesting for partners of both companies.
I am looking forward to what happens in Q3&Q4 with the introduction of XenServer 5.5. Will it finally be able to erode more of the enterprise server virtualization space?
What really shocked me was the amount of commitments for Citrix XenDesktop, their desktop virtualization platform of over 1000 seats.
